Began Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2001, received blue belt in 2003 from Relson Gracie and then first stripe in 2004. Other accomplishments include Green Belt from Judo Tremont, Green Belt from Miyama Ryu JuJutsu Tremont and Purple belt in Karate.

Miguel Lopez

Born and raised in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat in Mindanao, southern island of the Philippines. He started training Balintawk Arnis at the age of 18, was in personally by late Grandmaster Teofilo Velez, and by some highly-skilled instructors, among them were Velez brothers: Chito, Monnie, Eddie as well as Bobby Taboada and Nick Elizar of Balintawak International Self-Defense Club in Cebu City, Philippines.

In 2008 he received Chief Master Instructor Degree from World Original Teovel’s Balintawak Arnis Under Grandmaster Chito Velez.

He was awarded as Master Instructor of the Year during the 23rd Annual 2010 Global Leadership Conference & USA International Black Belt Hall Of Fame held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA.

Currently residing in the Bronx, New York with wife Betty and son Kylezeth. He teaches Balintawak Arnis System under the World Original Teovel’s Balintawak Arnis Group.
